SUMMARY:Hit ID Symposium 2023
DESCRIPTION:The upcoming Hit ID Symposium will be held on 27 October 2023 at the Woodward Conference Centre\, in Melbourne\, Australia. This event will consist of scientific sessions\, interactive events and networking opportunities focussed on introducing delegates to the topic of hit identification within a small molecule drug discovery setting. \nThis is the first small molecule drug discovery symposium showcasing the hit identification infrastructure available within Melbourne’s Parkville precinct\, with a series of drug development success stories. The event provides a unique opportunity to be involved in a wide-reaching symposium that will focus on hit-finding screening campaigns in drug discovery\, delivered by experts actively working in the field from both within academia and industry. \nThe symposium will introduce researchers and clinicians to the topic of small molecule drug discovery and the support available to engage in such a program\, starting with the identification of a hit. Our program will guide participants through the different stages of small molecule drug discovery: how to do it\, how to fund it and how to protect it. This symposium will attract researchers who have an interest in drug discovery from the fields of biology and chemistry and groups involved in the translational and commercialisation space. \n\nBioCurate Associate Director of Medicinal Chemistry Discovery and Stakeholder Management Dr Tifelle Reisinger will be on the Funding Sources Panel discussion\nBioCurate Associate Director of Small Molecule Therapeutics Dr Belinda Huff will be attending\n\nThe program\, more information and registration details can be found here.

SUMMARY:BioConnections Australia 2021
DESCRIPTION:Bio Connections Australia explores drug development\, early phase clinical trials\, translational research and expediting Australia’s great science into commercialization. \n2020 saw significant disruption to the drug development and clinical trials landscape in Australia and around the world. Australia’s response was remarkable in its ability to respond to the challenges and capture opportunities. How we maintain that momentum and build upon this is an important theme for discussion in 2021. \nOngoing work is needed to drive Australia to become globally competitive in novel therapeutics and create better pathways for companies to translate their great research into commercial products. From effective early partnering to funding plans for translation and commercialisation – this event is a critical opportunity for dialogue and debate between key stakeholders. \nAustralia is now well known as a leading destination for early phase clinical trials. The next step is to ensure we maintain the efficiencies and innovations adopted during the pandemic and build upon them. What are the innovative models which can be adopted and sustained? What are the opportunities with new tech and devices within clinical trials and what are the regulatory considerations? \n\nBioCurate Chairman and Director the Hon John Brumby will be delivering the opening keynote address\nBioCurate COO Linda Peterson and founding CEO Dr C. Glenn Begley will also be speaking at the meeting\n\nThe program\, more information and registration details can be found here.
