Chacko Joseph

Head of Drug Development

Dr Chacko Joseph is a seasoned life sciences professional with over a decade of experience in early-stage drug development, technology transfer, and strategic partnerships. His career spans industry, startups, and academia, with a consistent focus on translating cutting-edge research into commercial opportunities.

At Monash University, Chacko built a strong track record of identifying high-potential academic discoveries and forming partnerships with global biopharmaceutical companies. He has held leadership roles at biotechnology companies including Exopharm and oNKo-Innate, where he contributed to technology development, pipeline strategy, and strategic collaborations.

As the first employee and co-inventor of Exopharm’s core technology, he was instrumental in building the company’s early foundation. Chacko is also the co-founder of FytonBio Inc., a biotech venture developing novel biologics for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

He holds a Bachelor of Technology from India, a Diploma in Biomedical Science from KU Leuven, Belgium, and a PhD in Biomedical Science from the University of Melbourne, where his research focused on understanding blood cell production.
