Dr Raphael Rahmani

Director of Small Molecule Therapeutics
Dr Raphael Rahmani is a medicinal chemist with over 10 years of experience across leading translational research centres, including the Australian Translational Medicinal Chemistry Facility and the Queensland Emory Drug Discovery Initiative, as well as in biotech as Associate Director of Chemistry at Audax (formerly oNKo innate).

His work spans diverse target classes including enzymes, ion channels, and antiparasitic targets, and multiple modalities including targeted protein degradation. He now brings his expertise in modern drug discovery to BioCurate as Director of Small Molecule Therapeutics. Raphael holds dual master’s and chemical engineering degrees from the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Clermont-Ferrand, a PhD in organic synthesis from Aix-Marseille University, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Tokyo in the group of Professor Shu Kobayashi.
